Questions

Is Alta free?

Yes. The Alta Daily page on the US App Store shows it as free and lists no in-app purchases (checked October 2026).

Does Alta have virtual try-on?

Yes, on an avatar that resembles you. Thraed instead generates a photo of you wearing the outfit, from your own full-body photo.

Which collects less personal data, Alta or Thraed?

They collect different things, and neither is data-free: both process photos with AI. Alta's App Store privacy label lists precise location, email, name, phone number, photos or videos and search history as linked to you. Thraed's policy says it asks for approximate location only if you allow it, and that it does not keep your photos on its servers after a request. Read both policies before you decide.

Is Alta on Android?

Alta's App Store page covers iPhone and iPad, and it has a web app at altadaily.com. We did not find an Android app. Thraed is iPhone and iPad only.

Can I use Thraed and Alta together?

Yes. Some people plan their week in Alta and use Thraed to check the outfits they are unsure about on their own photo.
